Emily Mayer
Sculptor and Taxidermist
Emily studied at the Norwich School of Art where
she received her B.A. (Hons) in Fine Art Sculpture. Since then, Emily has been working
as both sculptor and taxidermist. Emily's sculptures tend to be of animals, what's
beneath the surface and the way they feel to her, so there is an overlap with taxidermy.
Emily's early work concentrated on constructions from found items, such as scrap
metals, metal fragments, woods, leather and other redundant items.
For the past few
years, Emily has been working with Damian Hirst, however, she is now concentrating
more on her own work and is currently working on a new collection of sculptures for
a series of exhibitions
