She then went on to study at Hornsey College of Art, now Middlesex University, to study scientific illustration, which included zoological and medical illustration. She has also worked on countless magazines, ranging from Ariel’s World to The Lion King. She has also worked for major food packaging labels, from pet food to Coleman’s Mustard. During the 1980’s Rachel produced the artworks for the LifeLine Rainforest Conservation group. Recently, Rachel’s artwork can be seen on the front cover of the huge best seller, Brick Lane by Monica Ali. Rachel’s fine art career started by her publishing clients phoning up Rachel Lockwood and asking if they could buy the original or have Rachel paint another for their homes. Rachel is currently working on a series of Koi carp paintings. The movement, light and tranquility created by Koi in water, are all factors that fascinate Rachel. Rachel now part-owns the Pinkfoot gallery, where her work, including landscapes and sketches will be on permanent display. Rachel is now working on new koi paintings, keep in touch with the gallery for more details.
